Hi, I’m John, just a lucky kid who gets to enjoy my mother’s wonderful food creations and I really hope that you get to experience the same feeling that I get when digging into my mum’s Taiwanese delights. But this story isn’t about me, but a wonderful mother Yo Tao Chen who wanted to provide for her family and at the same time found a love of making customers smile when enjoying the wonderful food of Taiwan.
It was the year 1995, coming from Tainan, Taiwan, hoping to bring to sydneysiders in particular the few Taiwanese in Australia a memory of the wonderful food of Tainan, Taiwan, my mum opened up her first boutique Taiwanese takeaway shop called Kirko Foods BBQ & Dim Sim bringing a plethora of different Taiwanese foods that she has learnt over the years, including all three of our main products. In addition, she brought to Australia pork buns, cabbage pork dumplings, sticky rice dumplings, sticky fried rice, and so many more Taiwanese treasures.
We are a family business based on a shared passion for food. We recognise food has one primary aim: to serve and to satisfy people. We also understand the power of food to bring friends and families together.
